Art

To see or to make - makes no difference.

I like to find out what is going on inside and outside myself by coupling my hand, eye and mind together.  A benefit is freeing my mind from the tyranny of the words for a little while.

Art cannot be translated into words, even though at lot of people make a living cutting it down to words.

As an artist I use photography so make pictures of what is going on around me. I am mainly occupied by three subjects:

  • The total photography, which looks 360° round. The panorama.
  • Slow photography, which is not cutting time to pieces, goes along, showing the movement.
  • To find the grand in the small – detail photography revealing a new world.

I often use old fashion equipment, not because it is better than new, but it gives me better time composing and creating pictures. Sometimes I use a combination of old and new as in digital pinhole photography.

Ceramics I mainly use for two purposes:

  • The technical engineering discipline: What if [you made a chair or a coathanger in porcelain]
  • The unpredictability  which is rooted in using a material like clay and glaze, which give much more back if you cooperate with the material.
